The many decks and sitting areas around Thistledown provide space for guests who desire time to read, rest or reflect. Stargazing is the perfect way to end the day prior to tucking in under the covers while the cool mountain air settles in for the night.
Wood turning instruction includes a description of the various tools used to turn wood into keepsake pieces of art. Using spindle gouges to begin and moving on to bowl gouges to create larger pieces, students will learn the correct use of the many tools used in the wood turning process.
Lunch at Thistledown provides a nice break in the middle of the day. While the menu can vary from sandwiches, soup and fresh tomato pie, whatever is served is sure to keep your energy going throughout the day.
Dinners at Thistledown use fresh foods and are served family style on the deck, which provides a beautiful view of the mountains below. Should the weather not permit outside dining, meals can be served in the gathering room. Special diets can be accommodated if we have 48-hour advance notice.
